This evening we will have an open evening with lots of hands-on amateur radio activities available for visitors and members to take part in.
This is an ideal opportunity for folk who don't hold an amateur radio licence to come along and see what the hobby is all about. It will also be useful for those who are thinking of undertaking, or who currently are, an amateur radio foundation course.
Available on the evening will be ...
- A VHF radio set available for chats to be undertaken with local radio amateurs.
- An HF radio available for communicating digitally with amateurs in various countries around Europe.
- Hands-on setting up your radio station.
- A Morse demonstration where you can have a go at sending a sending and receiving a phrase.
- Hands-on tuning an antenna for best VSWR.
Visitors are most welcome, there's no need to be a member to attend.
There will be no subs payable this evening as this is an open evening. However, donations are always welcome. :-)
Free refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
We are an inclusive club and have members of all orientation and ages from mid-twenties upwards.
