Our friends at LADAR (Leyland & District Amateur Radio club) presented participants in the RSGB’s Brickworks scheme with their awards recently. LADAR has not been in existence for a year yet, born out of the Covid lockdown nets the club faithfully ran. However, their commitment to the hobby and enthusiasm is a credit to them, a great example for us all and we salute them.
Brickworks is a scheme, devised by the RSGB but managed by local clubs, that promotes progression in the hobby through being active in the club and the activities they undertake to further knowledge and skills. Participants receive a series of certificates as they work through the scheme, guided and supported by fellow members of their club.
LADAR has promoted Brickworks strongly over the last few months and its members have embraced it as curriculum for their club’s activities – just as the authors of the scheme intended.
