The Quantum Code Club is the junior section of the Quantum Amateur Radio & Technology Society. It is designed for youngsters aged 9 to 16 and caters for everyone with an interest in; amateur radio, electronics and computing coding, making and crafting.

We meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Thursday of month when we undertake various practical electronics and computer coding tasks.

We have a high ratio of support staff to youngsters and try and aim for one colleague to look after no more than two members throughout the evening. This enables us to support our members and give them as much help as possible.

Safe and secure environment

Our meetings are held at a local church and are run in accordance with their safeguarding policies and practices. We are also affiliated to the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s Code Club and CoderDojo and we have committed to adopting and implementing their safeguarding policies and practices too.

All of our support staff have undergone safeguarding training with the Code Club and hold a current DBS certificate.

We encourage our members to take part in joint activities with our Technology Club members. To-date we have attended and exhibited the Liverpool MakeFest, Norbreck Amateur Radio Rally and supported events at the local library in Ormskirk.

Quantum Code Club Membership

Membership of the Quantum Code Club is completely free of charge as we believe that it is important that youngsters get a good grounding in the use and development of technology. Firstly to give young people a focus for a possible career in the future, but also for the good of the country – we are crying out for the engineers and technologists of the future.

Due to the nature of the activities we undertake at our Code Club meetings, we have a limited membership of sixteen. This does mean that we often have a long waiting list for new members to join. We’re afraid that there is nothing that we can about this and apologise if you have been waiting for your child to join for some time.

Help us provide this valuable opportunity to those who are less fortunate

Since we make no charge for membership of the Quantum Code Club and charge no subs to attend each meeting, all resources are provided personally by the members of the Quantum Technology Club. We do welcome any donations to help us provide those less fortunate to be able to enjoy the same opportunities as our members.

Quantum Code Club – Inclusive and accessible

We welcome everyone to our meetings and activities and strive to be as inclusive and as accessible as possible in everything we do. Our premises are also fully inclusive and accessible.
