Radioworld - WalsallRadioworld - Walsall

In a sleepy backwater on the outskirts of Walsall lies the village of Great Wyrley and it’s home to Clive and Emma. Clive came to live in the area a few years ago and has been actively supporting the staff at Radioworld ever since.

Clive

During the day Clive entertains the customers, whilst at night watches he over things whilst everyone else is tucked up warm in bed. However, Clive was lonely, so in April he was joined by his new friend Emma.

Emma

Emma, like Clive, loves amateur radio and longs for the day when then can both get away together and explore the great outdoors – who knows, they may even try their hand at activating a few summits too. But for now, she’s content playing hide and seek with the Radioworld customers and helping Clive with his night watchmen duties.

They’ve been together now for nearly five months and they seem pretty inseparable. Everything they do, they do together.

Amateur radio shack mascots

Of course Clive and Emma are not real people; they’re amateur radio shack mascots and closely related to Little Ham who we reported on back in October 2022. They’re the brainchild of Alison, M6COV. She’s made quite a few of them now and they can be found all over the country, accompanied by their human.

So the next time you go to Radioworld have a look and see if you can find them – they’ll be there (somewhere) waiting for you to search them out.

If you’d like your very own shack mascot then please contact Derek Hughes (G7LFC) and we’ll get back to you with details on how you can order your very own Little Ham, Clive, Emma, or whatever you want to name it.
